Lydia Schmitz is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and has been in the field of social services since 2012. She has been in the field of social work since 2020. Lydia was born in Minnesota and has lived most of her life in Arizona. Lydia is a two-time ASU alumni for her Bachelor's in Psychology and Master's in Social Work. She has a huge heart for animals, arts and crafts, all things "nerdy" and has a passion for learning. She enjoys spending time with loved ones trying something new, a road trip or a board game night.

Lydia believes in radical acceptance of her clients and meeting them "where they are at." Let Lydia be a Starting Point in your healing journey. Lydia has a passion in supporting the neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ population. Lydia is passionate in supporting those experiencing difficulties related to ADHD, Autism, General Anxiety, depression, bipolar and trauma related disorders. Lydia lives by the motto, "be the change in the world you want to see." Lydia primarily works with the adolescent and young adult population. Lydia uses an eclectic, trauma-informed, client-centered, strengths-based approach. Lydia incorporates elements of art and play therapy and fully believes there is no "age limit" on fun; art and play supports connection to the inner child. Lydia believes there is healing in connecting to the inner child through art/play. Lydia believes that no one client is the same and tailors her therapeutic approach to meet client needs.

Lydia is committed to life-long learning and ensuring best practices are used within her therapeutic approach.

Lydia is currently accepting new clients 13 years old and older.
