Accelerated healing through intensive therapy programs and supportive group experiences.

EMDR / Structural Dissociation Intensives

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an evidence-based, highly researched and effective psychotherapy modality proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders.

How does an Intensive differ from regular therapy?

Traditional therapy is usually 45-55 minutes once per week, and it can take time to really get into EMDR processing. EMDR intensives are offered in half-day, full-day and 3-day blocks—one-on-one, highly intensive EMDR and Structural work to gain the most healing in the shortest amount of time.

Our intensives differ from most in that we take it a step further and utilize the theory of structural dissociation to manage potential road blocks that can often occur in EMDR processing.

Current Groups

Reclaiming Peace

Support Group for Adult Children of Estranged Parental Relationships

The holidays can bring up complex emotions, especially for those experiencing distance, loss, or estrangement from parents. Reclaiming Peace provides a supportive, therapist-led space where you can connect with others who understand what you are going through. Together we focus on grounding, boundary setting, and finding peace through the season.

This is not a trauma processing group but a place for validation, shared coping, and emotional steadiness.

Common Questions About Intensives

What happens during an EMDR intensive?

An EMDR intensive is an extended, one-on-one therapy session lasting a half-day or full day. Your therapist will guide you through preparation, EMDR processing, and integration in a single block. Because you stay in processing mode longer than a traditional 45-minute session, many clients experience faster breakthroughs. Our intensives also incorporate Structural Dissociation Theory to address roadblocks that can occur during processing.

Who is a good candidate for EMDR intensives?

EMDR intensives can benefit anyone who wants accelerated trauma processing—whether you're dealing with PTSD from a single event or complex trauma from prolonged experiences. They're especially helpful for clients who feel stuck in weekly therapy, those with busy schedules who prefer concentrated work, or people traveling to Mesa, AZ specifically for treatment. Your therapist will assess readiness during a consultation.

Can I use insurance for EMDR intensives?

No, EMDR intensives are a self-pay program. Half-day intensives start at $600, full-day at $1,000, and multi-day packages are available at reduced rates. A 50% deposit is due at scheduling, with the remainder due at your first appointment. Visit our Rates page for complete pricing.

What is ketamine-assisted therapy like?

Ketamine-assisted therapy combines the use of ketamine with professional trauma-focused counseling. The FDA approved esketamine (Spravato) nasal spray for treatment-resistant depression in 2019 and expanded it to standalone monotherapy in 2025. Our practice offers trauma-specific ketamine-assisted therapy packages. Note: IV ketamine used in clinical settings is distinct from FDA-approved esketamine and is used off-label.
